NOTRE DAME - Patricia H. Weithman, 88, died Sunday, April 18,
2010, in her residence, the Holy Cross Village at Notre Dame in
Notre Dame, Indiana. Born in Erie, PA, on May 20, 1921, she was a
daughter of the late John R. and Kathryn (Murphy) Haughney.
Before her retirement, she worked as a receptionist in the Social
Security Office for 22 years. While living in Erie, she was a
founding member of Saint Jude the Apostle Church and a member of
the "Over 50" Club. Patricia had volunteered at the
Second Harvest Food Bank, and was a reader for the blind. In
addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her
husband, Paul T. Weithman, in 1991, and a sister, Margaret Ims.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas P. Weithman, wife, Elizabeth
Murphy Weithman of Arlington, VA, and Paul J. Weithman, wife,
Maura Ryan of Granger, IN; four grandchildren, Patricia
Marguerite and Anne Gabriella Weithman, Mary Catherine Murphy
Weithman and Thomas Paul Murphy Weithman; several nieces and
nephews. Friends may call Friday from 3 until 7 p.m. in the
Brugger Home for Funerals, 1595 West 38th Street, Erie, PA, and
may attend a prayer service there Saturday at 9:15 a.m., followed
by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Jude the Apostle Church at
10 o'clock. Burial will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
