Sister Mary Hermaneda CSC, of the Sisters of the Holy Cross, died Monday night at Saint Mary’s Convent. Born Catherine Weise in 1890 in Austin, Texas, she received her early education in Texas and entered the Sisters of the Holy Cross in 1915. She received the habit in 1916 and made her professional vows in 1918. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Incarnate Word College in Texas and taught many years in Austin, Marshall and McAllen, Texas. She also was assigned to San Francisco; Alexandria Va.; and Lancaster, Pa.

The requiem  high mass will be offered in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto at 6 a.m. Wednesday with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery on the campus. Friends may call at the convent parlor.
