Samuel Andrew Weinkauf

Samuel Weinkauf, 68, of 842 E. 4th St., was dead on arrival at 9:50 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Hospital, where he was taken from his home in the city ambulance.  He had been ill for the last week. 

 

Born in Mishawaka on May 6, 1902, he lived here all his life.  He retired from employment at the Studebaker Corp., South Bend, in 1956. 

 

Surviving are three brothers; Paul, with whom he lived, Adam of Peoria, Ill., and William J. of Osceola, and two sisters; Mrs. Margaret Becraft of Mishawaka and Mrs. Katherine Robbins of Belle, Calif. 

 

Friends may call after 7 p.m. today in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where final arrangements are being made. 

 

Mr. Weinkauf was a member of St. Joseph’s Church; the Catholic order of Foresters, Mishawaka Post 161, American Legion, Mishawaka-Penn Twp. Democratic Men’s Club and Mishawaka Aerie 2083, Fraternal Order of Eagles.  He was a veteran of World War I.

Funeral services for Samuel Weinkauf, 68, of 842 E. 4th St., who was dead on arrival Monday at St. Joseph’s Hospital, will be held at 9 a.m. Thursday in St. Joseph’s Church.  Very Rev. Curt A. Suelzer, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. 

 

Friends may call until the time of services at the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. today.
