Gertrude Weinkauf
Jan. 14, 1917 - Feb. 10, 2001
Gertrude Weinkauf, 84, of Mishawaka, passed away at 11:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 10 in the Countryside Place Rehabilitation Center, Mishawaka, after a lengthy illness.
Gertrude was born on Jan. 14, 1917, in Mishawaka to the late Alfred and Mary (Futterknecht) Trippel. Also preceding her in death was a brother, Robert Trippel.
On. Nov. 26, 1938, Gertrude married Wilfred F. Weinkauf. He preceded her in death on Aug. 25, 1996.
Surviving are a daughter, Rita (Richard) Kemble of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Brian (Staci) Kemble of Doylestown, Pa., Darren Kemble and Clare Kemble, both of Mishawaka; two great-grandchildren, Alexis and Hannah Kemble of Doylestown, Pa.; and three sisters, Pauline (Don) Heckman and Geraldine Gropp, both of Lakeland, Fla. and Mildred (Bob) Scheibelhut of Mishawaka.
Gertrude was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Mishawaka, the Rosary Society at church and Harvest House.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 12, in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, Mishawaka, where a Rosary will be recited at 4:30 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 13 in St. Joseph Church. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola.
