NEW CARLISLE - Mary E. Weiland, 94, of New Carlisle, IN, passed
away Sunday morning, May 23, 2010, in her home. Mary was born
October 13, 1915, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Carthel and
Hazel (Wells) Burrow. On October 10, 1936, she was united in
marriage to Fred A. Weiland, who preceded her in death in 2003.
Mary is survived by twin sons, Harold (Myrna) Weiland of LaPorte,
IN, and Gerald (Debbie) Weiland of Eldorado, IL; four grandsons,
Kevin (Karen) Weiland, Craig (Alisa) Weiland, Mark (Donna)
Weiland and Mikel (Diane) Weiland; three step-grandsons, James,
Jeremiah and Joseph; 11 great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her
sister, Elsie Cromwell, and two brothers, Carthel Jr. and Paul
Burrow. Mary was an executive secretary with the former Bendix
Corporation until she retired. She was a member of The Order of
Eastern Star, Hammond, Indiana, and Historic New Carlisle. Her
family was the most important part of her life; she was a devoted
wife, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., (E.S.T.), Wednesday, May
26, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 201 S. Filbert Street,
New Carlisle, IN. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m.,
(E.S.T.), Thursday, May 27, 2010, in the Kaniewski Funeral Home,
where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial
will follow at New Carlisle Cemetery. Donations in Mary's name
