Elsie Wegner, 88, formerly of S. Carlisle Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 10:45 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26, in Fountainveiw Place, Mishawaka, Ind. She was born on Sept. 9, 1912, in South Bend, and was the daughter of Peter and Josephine (Galwas) Dyszkiewicz. Mrs. Wegner retired from the Jefferson Medical Arts Building.
On Sept. 29, 1934, in South Bend, as Elsie Dyszkiewicz, she married Theodore Wegner, who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1990. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Patricia Wegner, three brothers and one sister. Surviving is a son, James (Sharon Lea) Wegner of South Bend; two grandchildren, Terri and Stacey, both of South Bend; two great-grandchildren, Austyn and Haley, both of South Bend; and two brothers, Walter Dyszkiewicz of South Bend and Bert Dyszkiewicz of Texas.
Family and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. Services will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Friday in St. Adalbert Catholic Church, South Bend. Burial will be at the St. Joseph Cemetery.
Mrs. Wegner was a member of St. Adalbert Catholic Church and Polish Women's Alliance Group #335.
