Mary Ellen Weddle, 91, of Miami Circle, Southfield Village, passed away at 9:10 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, at Southfield Village Nursing Home. She was born Jan. 21, 1911, in South Bend, IN, and was the daughter of Anthony Scanlon and Elizabeth (Furey) Scanlon, who have preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Dale; and a brother, Howard "Bud" Scanlon.

She is survived by two daughters, Karen (Joseph) Wroblewski of South Bend, Mary Dale Cebulski of South Bend; three sons, Vincent (Betty) Weddle of Lima, Ohio, James (Mary) Weddle of Annapolis, Maryland, Michael (Carolyn) Weddle of Woodland Park, Colorado; a sister, Dorothy Scanlon of South Bend, and also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.

Mary Ellen was a member of St. Matthew Cathedral and the Rosary & Altar Society. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, Sept. 16, at ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road. Services will be held at St. Matthews Cathedral at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 17. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Bishop Crowley Education Fund.
