MISHAWAKA - Eleanore R. Weddle, 81, of 4012 Parkwood Circle, died at 8 p.m. Saturday in Fountainview Place. Mrs. Weddle retired from the University of Notre Dame as an office clerk for the Ava Maria Press. She was born April 20, 1914, in South Bend.
On Dec. 30, 1937, in Kokomo, as Eleanore R. Gillen, she married Horace Weddle. He survives with a daughter, Margaret E. Faustlin of St. Joseph, Mo.; four sons, George E. of West Lafayette, Ind., J. Richard of Hilo, Hawaii, J. Paul of Salem, Ore., and Thomas P. of South Bend; seven grandchildren; a sister, Frances McGovern of Weathersfield, Conn.; and a brother, Robert Gillen of Mishawaka. She was a member of Harvest House and the Altar Society, both of St. Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, and was a member of St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church, South Bend.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church. Burial will be today in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. There will be no visitation. McGann Funeral Home, South Bend, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
