SOUTH BEND - Sister M. Rose Monica Weber CSC, 99, of Saint Mary's Convent, died at 8:50 p.m. Saturday in her residence. Sister M. Rose Monica was born Nov. 7, 1894, in Decatur, Ind., as Wilhelmina Gertrude Weber.
She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross on Jan. 23, 1920; was received as a novice Aug. 15, 1920; and professed her vows Aug. 15, 1922. She was assigned as a teacher in elementary schools and as a mission social worker in Bengal and taught in schools in Washington, D.C., New York, Maryland, Texas, and Virginia. She was also involved in social work and health services.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Church of Loretto, Saint Mary's. Burial will be in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery, Saint Mary's. Friends may call after 3 p.m. today in the church, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. Hickey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
