MISHAWAKA - George William Weber, 81, died unexpectedly in
Naples, FL, on Wednesday, February 17. George was born on
November 8, 1928, in Detroit, MI, to William and Harriet
(Kreiner) Weber. He was preceded in death by his parents, and by
an infant son, John. On November 12, 1955, in Gary, IN, he
married the former Virginia Bader. They recently celebrated 54
years of marriage. Also surviving are their children, William G.
(Karen) Weber of Mishawaka, Florence (Rick) Swaim of Fort Myers,
FL, Robert C. (Kimberly) Weber of Osceola and Joseph M.
(Kristine) Weber of Mishawaka; grandchildren, Marie (Collin)
Green, Benjamin Weber, Ryan Swaim, Logan Swaim and Drew Weber;
step-grandchildren, Cassandra and Heather Bogaert;
great-grandchild, Phoenix Weber; and three sisters, Sister
Madeline Weber of Texas, Mary (Edward) Benz of Detroit, MI, and
Winnie (Edward) Hicks of Rhode Island. George was a CEO of the
former Clark Metal Last, Inc., a 4th degree member of the Knights
of Columbus, a former board member of the St. Joseph County 4-H
Fair, St. Joseph Hospital, Mishawaka, and numerous other
associations. He was a prominent Mishawaka and South Bend
businessman with far-reaching impact through the local community.
He was also a member of St. Joseph Parish in Mishawaka. Born and
raised in Detroit, Michigan, he was a 1951 graduate of the
University of Notre Dame from the College of Commerce. George was
a generous man who was loved and respected by his family and
friends. He enjoyed traveling, Notre Dame athletics, and spending
time with his family. Visitation for George will be on Thursday,
February 25, from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., with wake prayers at
3:30 p.m. in the Hahn Funeral Home, 505 W. 8th Street, Mishawaka.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday,
February 26, in St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mishawaka. In lieu of
flowers, contributions are asked to be made to St. Joseph Parish,
Mishawaka, or to the St. Joseph County 4-H Fair Scholarship Fund.
