SOUTH BEND - Robert L. "Bob" Webb, 61, of South
Bend, IN, passed away unexpectedly at 1:27 PM Saturday, August
30, 2008, in Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center, South Bend,
IN, of a heart attack. He was born on January 30, 1947, in Niles,
MI, to Walter E. and Rachel (Rhoades) Webb, and was a lifelong
Michiana resident. On June 8, 1968, in Grace United Methodist
Church, South Bend, he married Janice Lee Nafe, who
survives. Along with his wife, Janice, he is survived by three
children, Christopher Robert (Lisa) Webb of Butler, IN, Amy
Elizabeth Webb of South Bend and Daniel Emerson Webb of South
Bend; three grandchildren, Brooke Webb, Shaye Webb and Caitlyn Donihue,
all of South Bend; a stepsister, Patricia (Ron) Wiles of
Kokomo, IN; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend,
James Price of South Bend. His parents, brother, Richard
W. Behnke, three half sisters, Edna McDonald, Carol
"Bev" Van Buren and Thelma Taylor, and
best friend, Virgil Yaw, all preceded him in death. Bob
was employed as a driver and deliveryman for several companies
including, Reliable Dairy, Bungalow Pie, Robert's Vending
Service, City News Agency and Michiana Delivery Service. Bob was
a member of the United States Bowling Congress, White House
Social Club, was a bingo fanatic, and was avid Cubs and Raiders
fan.
Friends may visit with the family from 5 to 8 PM Friday, September 5, in Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Contributions in memory of Bob Webb may be made to the Fireman's Fund-River Park Fire Dept. #9, who his wife will be forever grateful for the many times they assisted him in an emergency.
