Clinton H. "Spider" Webb,
79, of Buckeye Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away following an
illness at 11:25 a.m. on Wednesday, April 18, in Saint Joseph
Community Hospital, Mishawaka. He was born Aug. 21, 1921, in
Mount Vernon, Ill., to Harold and Louise Webb, who preceded him
in death.
On Dec. 10, 1977, he married the former
Robbie Newland in Mishawaka. She survives. He is also
survived by his children, Bill (Phyllis) Holt of Waterloo,
Ala., Donna (John) Joyal of Mishawaka, Shelly (Ralph) Hoyt
of Mishawaka and Russell Newland of Bunker Hill, Ind.; nine
grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn
(Robert) Hitson of South Bend, Ind.; a brother, Byron
Tennison of Fort Myers, Fla.; his sister-in-law and
brother-in-law, Ed and Doris Bertrand of Mishawaka; and by a
sister-in-law, Barbara Holcombe, also of Mishawaka.
Mr. Webb was a veteran of the U.S. Army,
serving during World War II. He was a truck driver for Central
Transport, retiring in 1989 after 20 years of service. He was
also a life member of VFW Post 360.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on
Saturday in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 North Main
Street, Mishawaka, where friends will be received from 2 to 4 and
6 to 8 p.m. today. officiating the services will be Rev. Adolph
Lacy. Burial will take place at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association
or to the American Heart Association.
