Violet May Weaver, 89, residing at
Southfield Village, South Bend, formerly of Dawes Place,
Mishawaka, passed away at 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13,
2005, at Southfield Village.
Mrs. Weaver was born on May 10, 1916, in
South Bend, to the late Leo and Lillian (Ebersole) Wittner.
She had remained a lifelong resident.
On December 18, 1937, in South Bend, she
married Rex G. Weaver, who survives. Along with her husband, Rex,
of nearly 68 years, survivors include one daughter, Sandra K.
(Hoyt) Smith of Mishawaka; two granddaughters, Laura
(Mark) Hossler of Fort Wayne and Kelly (Jeff) Metzger of
Goshen; three great-grandchildren, Ryan and Alaina Hossler, and
Alicia Cuzzocrea; and two sisters, Fern Eddy of South Bend
and Alice Jean Detzler of Indianapolis.
Mrs. Weaver retired in 1978 after 16 years
of employment with Dodge Manufacturing. She was a member of the
Order of the Eastern Star #2, South Bend. Mrs. Weaver formerly
attended the First Church of the Brethren, and was proud to be a
graduate of Riley High School.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m.
on Friday, September 16, 2005, in the Palmer Funeral Home-River
Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend. Pastor Ron Bowman will
officiate. Graveside services and burial will follow at St.
Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may visit with the
family one hour prior to services on Friday in the funeral home.
