SOUTH BEND - Rex G. Weaver, 94, of South Bend, IN, passed
away at 12:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 15, 2008, in Southfield Village,
South Bend. He was born July 25, 1913, in Buchanan, MI, to Clyde
and Luretta (Price) Weaver.
On December 18, 1937, in South Bend, he
married the former Violet May Wittner, who preceded him in
death September 13, 2005. Mr. Weaver is survived by his daughter
and son-in-law, Sandra and Hoyt Smith of Mishawaka, IN;
two grandchildren, Laura and Mark Hossler of Fort Wayne,
IN, Kelly and Jeff Metzger of Goshen, IN; three
great-grandchildren, Ryan and Alaina Hossler, and Alicia Cuzzocrea;
and three brothers, Bill Weaver of Los Angeles, CA, Ken Weaver of
Houston, TX, and Dick Weaver of Scottville, MI. Four sisters and
five brothers preceded him in death. Mr. Weaver retired from
Portage Realty in 1992 after 28 years as a realtor. He was a
50-year member of the Masons of St. Joseph Valley Lodge #45
F&AM, Scottish Rite, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Mishawaka
Breakfast Exchange Club and the Studebaker Square and Compass
Club.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m.
Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka
Avenue, South Bend, IN. Rev. Ron Bowman will officiate. Burial
will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, IN.
Friends may visit with the family one hour prior to the services
on Monday. Contributions may be made to the Shriners Surgical
Hospital, 2211 N. Oak Park Avenue, Chicago, IL 60707.
