SOUTH BEND - Mary Ann Weaver, 70, of South Bend, passed away after a sudden illness at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9th, in her residence. Mary Ann was born on March 15, 1938, in Chicago, IL, and had resided in the South Bend area since 1983, coming from North Liberty, IN. She retired from the University of Notre Dame Building Services Dept. after several years of service. She retired in 2005.

Mrs. Weaver is survived by a daughter, Kathy A. Cochran of North Liberty, and by a son, Kevin J. Holmes of South Bend. Also surviving are three brothers, John E. (Nancy) Harvey of Rockford, IL, Allen L. (Charlene) Harvey of North Judson, IN, and William H. (Rita) Harvey of St. Cloud, FL. Mary Ann loved hosting parties, sewing, festivals, and loved music. She was an avid Notre Dame football fan. She will be sadly missed by her loving family, all the friends she made at Notre Dame and who just had the opportunity to meet her during her life journey. She was a very caring and thoughtful person.

Visitation hours will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today, April 13, in Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23, South Bend. Funeral services will be private, with family only, on Monday, April 14, at noon (South Bend time) at Highland Cemetery, North Judson, IN. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to the Diabetes Association of St. Joseph County, 6910 N. Main Street, Suite 9, Mail Unit #10, Granger, IN 46530. The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend its deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Weaver family.
