SOUTH BEND - Doris P. Weaver, 89, passed away at 11:55 p.m. Friday, March 28, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. Doris was born on April 22, 1918, in Maywood, IL, to the late Frederick and Sina (Bultman) Simpson.

On August 7, 1937, she married Charles Sylvester Weaver in River Grove, IL, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Simpson, and a twin sister, Dorothy Woodford. She is survived by her children, Shirley (Eugene) Rogers of South Bend, James (Frances) Weaver of Lansing, MI, and Charles (Jeanne) Weaver of Des Plaines, IL; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and by her sister, Lucille Frey of Brookfield, IL. Doris was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church. She worked three years at K-Mart after retiring from 10 years as a bookkeeper at Osco's. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. She was a wonderful baker and cook. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 1, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, South Bend. A funeral service will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, April 2, in Bethany Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bethany Lutheran Church.
