MISHAWAKA - Phyllis A. Weaver, 61, of East 8th Street, Mishawaka,
passed away at 5:31 p.m. on Saturday, June 18th, following an
illness. She was born January 31st, 1950, in Mishawaka, Indiana,
to Earl and Dorothy (May) Balentine. As Phyllis A. Balentine, she
married Terry Weaver in South Bend on May 10th, 1969. He survives
with her father, Earl (Dixie) Balentine of Tuscumbia, Alabama,
and her mother, Dorothy Jones of Osceola. Also surviving are her
son, Scott Weaver of Mishawaka; one bother, Earl (Elaine) Eugene
Balentine of Phoenix, AZ; three sisters, Victoria (Mark)
Underwood of Tucson, AZ, Wanda (Dean Miller) Meredith of Osceola
and LaVonna Jones of Phoenix. Also surviving are her
grandchildren, Alysia and Raistlin Weaver; a stepsister, Tulsa
DeVaney of Tuscumbia, Alabama; and a stepbrother, Ronnie Johnson
of Tuscumbia, Alabama. Mrs. Weaver retired in 2009 after 16 years
with Liberty Mutual Insurance as a Quality Assurance person.
Along with her love for her family and grandchildren, she was
well-known for her love of playing BINGO and flower gardening.
Funeral services for Mrs. Weaver will be held at 6:00 p.m. on
Saturday, June 25th, in Bubb Funeral Chapel, Mishawaka, where
friends will be received from 2 until the time of the services at
6:00 p.m. Saturday. The family has requested that, although they
prefer floral tributes, memorial contributions may be made to the
American Cancer Society .
Also the family would like to thank Dr. Rudolph Navari, his staff
and the staff at Memorial Hospital for the loving care given to
Phyllis during her illness.
