SOUTH BEND - Charles L. ''Chuck'' Watson
Jr., 51, of West Gatehouse Drive, died at 6 p.m. Wednesday in
Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mr. Watson was owner/operator
of several Hot 'N Now restaurant franchises, was the former
owner/operator of several area McDonald's restaurants and was the
owner of the Distillery Liquor Store. He was born Sept. 6, 1943,
in Brooklyn, N.Y., and lived in South Bend for 34 years.
On Sept. 11, 1965, in South Bend, he married
Ann C. Price. She survives with a daughter, Rebecca A.
Watson of South Bend; six sons, Christopher C. of Lafayette,
Ind., Michael T. of Miamisburg, Ohio, Gregory J. of Charleston,
S.C., Charles M. of South Bend, Casey R. of Bloomington, Ind.,
and Matthew J. of West Lafayette, Ind.; his parents, Katherine
(Jill) and Charles L. Watson Sr. of Homosassa, Fla.; a sister,
Jill Watson of Tallahassee, Fla.; and a brother, Kevin of Mobile,
Ala. He was a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and a
member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church and Notre Dame
University Club.
Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in
the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park,
Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in
Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a parish rosary
will be said at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the
Women's Care Center or the church memorial fund.
