James T. Waszak, 45, of Duvall,
Wash., formerly of South Bend, Ind., died on Saturday, Feb. 27,
in the University of Washington Medical Center, Seattle, Wash. He
was born on Nov. 3, 1953, in South Bend, and was preceded in
death by his father, Joseph Anthony Waszak on Jan. 9, 1998. He
was manager of the HS&E (Health Safety and Environmental)
Services of the Allied Signal Corporation, South Bend, for 18
years. Jim was a graduate of Indiana University, a member of the
Indiana University Alumni Association, and was a member of the
Allied Signal Management Club. On Nov. 3, 1981, in South Bend, he
married Cathy James, who survives. He is also survived by
his mother, Irma H. (Michowski) Waszak of South Bend; a daughter,
Carrie Waszak, and a son, Christopher Waszak, both at home; and
by two brothers, David A. Waszak of South Bend and John J. Waszak
of Fort Wayne, Ind.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at St. Jude's Catholic Church, South Bend. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday in the Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road, where a Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. in the funeral home.
