David Brian Wassenhove, 49, of South
Bend, Ind., died in his home on Saturday, Nov. 9, 2002.
Dave was born on April 22, 1953, to Julius
and Gloria Wassenhove. He was preceded in death by his father,
Julius Wassenhove, and by his father-in-law, Ray Opaczewski.
Dave married Barbara Opaczewski on April 28, 1973. He worked for
Indiana Bell for 20 years. Dave is survived by his wife, Barb,
and their two daughters, Emily and Ellie, of whom he was so
proud. He is also survived by his mother, Gloria; his brother,
Paul, and his family, Debbie, Kim and Amanda; and by his sister,
Judy Gulick, and her family, John and Kyle; and by his
mother-in-law, Bernice Opaczewski; sister-in-law, Cindy
Opaczewski; and brother-in-law, Ronnie Opaczewski. Dave enjoyed
the friendship and support of many special, longtime friends,
especially Randy Kiemnec, and Amy and Max Baim.
Dave's courage and optimism are an inspiration to all who knew
him.
Dave's family invites family and friends to a memorial dinner to be held at the American Legion, Post #284, 23571 Grant Road, on Thursday, Nov. 14th, from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by the Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend.
