GRANGER - Philip L. Wasmer, 55, of Granger, passed away at
12:20 a.m. Monday, March 10, 2008, in his home surrounded by
family. Phil was born on January 29, 1953, in Onarga, IL, to
Francis and Eileen (Richards) Wasmer.
On June 23, 1973, he married Lori Karst.
Phil is survived by his loving wife, Lori of Granger; children,
Kevin (Mindy) Wasmer of Mishawaka and Jacqueline Grayson
(fiancé, Tom Zielinski) of South Bend; three grandchildren,
Alivia, Audrey Ann and Xavier. He is also survived by his mother,
Eileen Wasmer of Gilman, IL; three sisters, Elaine Bull of
Gilman, IL, Donna (Tom) Finney of Killeen, TX, and Louise
(Dennis) Conrad of Danforth, IL; and three brothers, Ray
(Cheryl) Wasmer of Mishawaka, Tom (Carol) Wasmer of Granger and
Richard (Debbie) Wasmer of South Bend. He was preceded in death
by his father and a sister, Joanne Golbin. Phil graduated
from Penn High School and attended First Christian Church of
Mishawaka. He worked as a mechanic for many years and owned the
former Wasmer Shell Station. He had been working for GS Plastics
for the past five years as a maintenance technician. He will be
remembered for his love of the outdoors, including gardening and
hunting.
Friends may visit with the family from 3 to
5 and 6 to 8 p.m. today (March 12th) in Chapel Hill Funeral Home,
10776 McKinley Highway, Osceola. Funeral services will be held at
10 a.m. Thursday, March 13, in the funeral home, with Dr. Gregory
Timmons officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial
Gardens, Osceola. Memorial contributions may be made to the River
Bend American
Cancer Society.
