SOUTH BEND - Services for Carla Evette Washington, 21, of 135 N. Walnut St., who died at 8:10 p.m. Saturday in her home after an illness, will be at 11 a.m. Friday in New Hope Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call before services in the church. Clark's Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Miss Washington was born Feb. 19, 1974, in South Bend. She is survived by a daughter, Janaya Hairston at home; her mother, Harriett Thompson of South Bend; stepmother and father, Delores and Alfred Shambery Sr. of South Bend; three sisters, Deidre Shambery and Debra Austin, both of Dallas, and Barbara Ledet of Houston; and two brothers, Lorenzo Keith Jr. and Alfred Shambery Jr., both of South Bend. She was a member of the church and a former student at Washington High School.
