OBITUARY:  CASSIUS WASHBURN

CASSIUS WASHBURN STRICKEN WITH APOPLEXY BUREAU OF THE TRIBUNE-- NO. 121 S. MAIN ST. TEL. 14--MISHAWAKA, IND. MARCH 13

Cassius M. Washburn, one of the best known farmers in this vicinity passed away very suddenly at the country residence, one and a half miles southwest of Osceola and four miles southeast of Mishawaka, at 7 o’clock Thursday evening, aged 61 years. He left the house after 6 o’clock to feed the chickens and was in his usual health.  While about this duty he was stricken with apoplexy and was found in a dying condition in the yard.  

He was removed to the house and a physician was summoned, but he was beyond all earthly aid and passed away while the doctor was present. Mr. Washburn was born June 6, 1847, in Erie County, PA and came to this vicinity 42 years ago, residing here since that time. 

He was married 40 years ago to the woman who survives with the following daughters and sons:  Mrs. Eva Francis of Kansas City, MO.; Mrs. Mina Weberg, of Supple, Ore.; Mrs. Edna Bowling, of Niles, Mich.;  Alfred Washburn, of Supple, Ore.; and Marion Washburn, who is at home. Mr. Washburn was a successful farmer and had   many friends.The funeral arrangements will be announced later.

FUNERAL NOTICE The funeral of the late C.M. Washburn will be held at 12 o’clock Sunday from the Osceola M. E. church, the Rev. A. A. Turner officiating.
