Stephanie Lavine Ward, 82, of Buckeye Road, Mishawaka, Ind., passed away on Sunday, April 2, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, Ind. Mrs. Ward was born on Oct. 18, 1917, to Nicholas and Emily (Hoza) Lasazen in Detroit, Mich. She was preceded in death by a brother, Joseph P. Muzycka.
On Oct. 17, 1936, she married Alva Russell Ward in Battle Creek, Mich. He survives. She is also survived by her brother, Nicholas W. Lasazen of Plymouth, Mich.; and by two sisters, Ann Muzycka of Garden City, Mich., and Marion Brindamour of Dexter, Mich.
Mrs. Ward was employed as a secretary with the Bendix Corporation for 26 years. She and her husband owned the A.R. Ward insurance agency in Mishawaka. Mrs. Ward was a member of the Professional Secretary Association, the Elks Club, South Bend, St. Michael's Ukrainian Church as well as Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
Services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 6, in the Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Mishawaka. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today, April 5, in the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Osceola, Ind., where a Rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Memorials may be sent to St. Michael's Ukrainian Church or to Queen of Peace Catholic Church.
