Arvise Johnson Ward, 17, who resided on North Johnson Street, South Bend, Ind., was dead on arrival at 1:19 a.m. on Sun-day, Nov. 8, at Memorial Hospital.

Arvise was born on Oct. 25, 1981, in Chicago, Ill., to Katherine Johnson and Danny Nevels. In 1992 he moved to South Bend, coming from Chicago. He was a student of LaSalle High School.

He is survived by his parents, Katherine Johnson of South Bend and Danny Nevels of Chicago; his adopted mother, Annette Ward of South Bend; two sisters, Daresha Williams and Janise Johnson; three brothers, Demarco Johnson, Deangelo Johnson and Deante Johnson, all of South Bend; maternal grandparents, Clarence and Katherine Johnson of South Bend; maternal adopted great-grandmother, Minnie Ward of Chicago; maternal great-grandmother, Mary Johnson of Chicago; two aunts, four uncles and six special cousins; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. today at Alford's Mortuary. Interment will follow in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call one hour prior to services.

Alford's Mortuary has been entrusted with arrangements.
