Sister M. Angelica Wandell CSC, 84, of Saint Mary’s Convent, died at 2:45 a.m. today in the convent. She was a teacher and served in elementary schools conducted by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Her first assignment was at St. Ann’s Orphanage, Salt Lake City, Utah, from 1924-25. Other assignments were in Maryland; Washington DC; Marshall, Texas; and Austin, Texas. She retired to St. Mary’s in 1969. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s on June 22, 1922, coming from LaPorte. She was received as a novice Jan. 6, 1923, and professed her vows on Aug. 15, 1925. She was born Oct. 1, 1902 in LaPorte, as Antoinette Wandell.
