SOUTH BEND - June I. Walters, 79, of Miller Road, died at 11:10 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital after an illness. Mrs. Walters was born Jan. 2, 1915, in Washington, Iowa.

On April 4, 1942, in South Bend as June I. Doxsee, she married Richard S. Walters. He died June 28, 1984. Surviving are two daughters, Carol Grenert and Susan Skarski, both of South Bend; seven grandchildren; and a sister, Jane Morton of Niles. A daughter, Lynn Lamirand, preceded her in death. She was a member of Lakeville United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Hospice of St. Joseph County.
