Forest E. Walters, 62, of 21079 Newton, Lakeville, died at 6 p.m. Monday at home after a 10-month illness. He was owner of Walters Floor Covering Shop, Mishawaka, for 22 years. Born on Dec. 4, 1917, in Hicksville, Ohio, he had lived in Lakeville since 1921.
On July 20, 1940, in Lakeville, he married
Eleanor Nolen, who survives. Also surviving are a
daughter, Mrs. Dolores Divens of Lakeville; a son Burl of
Lakeville; five grandchildren, five sisters, Mrs. Eva Donathen
of Lakeville, Mrs. Ruth Pehling of South Bend, Mrs. Alma Woolley
and Mrs. Freda Richards, both of Dowagiac, and Mrs.
Doris Holdeman of Central, S. C.; and two brothers, Luther
of Sturgis, Mich., and Gary of Mishawaka.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Olive Branch United
Brethren in Christ Church. Rev. Richard Thorp, pastor, will
officiate. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call
from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Palmer Memorial
Chapel, Lakeville, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the church.
