Beverly Ann Walsh, 58, passed away on
Monday, Nov. 12, in her home. Mrs. Walsh was born May 25, 1943,
in South Bend, Ind., and was raised by her stepfather, Matt Rachwalski,
and her mother, Anne Birtz. A lifelong resident of South
Bend, Beverly was a 1961 graduate of St. Joseph High School.
On Sept. 19, 1970, she married Paul J.
Walsh, who survives. She is also survived by her two children, a
son, Mark (Rosalie) Walsh, and a daughter, Laura (Tyler) Burton,
both of South Bend; two sisters, Kathleen Karczewski of
South Bend and Patricia Starker of Phoenix, Ariz.; a half
brother, Michael Rachwalski of Las Vegas, Nev.; and by two
grandchildren, Maguire Burton and Katherine Walsh. Mrs. Walsh
will be remembered as an avid reader, a person who loved to
travel with her husband Paul, and who loved to work in her flower
garden.
Visitation for Mrs. Walsh will be from 2 to
4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today with a Rosary service at 3:30 p.m. in the
Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home, 3718 South Michigan
Street. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday in
St. Jude Catholic Church, 19704 Johnson Road. Burial will follow
at Southlawn Cemetery. Memorials in Beverly's name may be made to
St. Joseph County Hospice or to the American Cancer Society.
