WALKERTON - Robert Earl Wallace, Sr., 80, of Walkerton, IN, passed away at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, December 16, 2009, in Hospice House, South Bend. He was born on June 17, 1929, in Bremen, IN, to Earl B. and Helen (Shaffer) Wallace. Mr. Wallace is survived by one daughter, Marcia Wallace; two sons, Robert E. (Carol) Wallace, Jr. of Elkhart, IN and Michael Wallace of Elkhart, IN; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two sisters, Violet Cataldo of Plymouth, IN. and Connie Eastin of Ft. Wayne, IN; and brother, Harold Wallace of South Bend, IN. Mr. Wallace served his country honorably in the United States Army. He retired in 1991 from Wheelhorse after twenty five and half years of service. Mr. Wallace enjoyed country music, watching dancing and drinking a beer. There will be no services. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturday, December 19, 2009, in the Palmer Funeral Home-Guisinger Chapel, 3718 S. Michigan St., South Bend, IN.
