Stella C. Walkowski

April 24, 1902 - March 20, 1974

Mrs. Stella C. Walkowski, 71, of 2729 Fredrickson St., died at 1:30pm Wednesday in her home after a brief illness.  She was employed by Drewrys Ltd. for 20 years and for the last four years by the Morris Inn & St. Mary's College.

Born April 24, 1902, in Poland, she had lived here more of her life.  On October 17, 1924, as Stella C. Oskard, she was married to John M. Walkowski, who survives.  Also surviving are a son, Leonard D. of Indianapolis; a daughter, Mrs. Delores Pirkle of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; a brother, Walter of Villa Grove IL and two sisters, Mrs. Genevieve DeVoss and Mary Oskard, both of South Bend.

Friends may call from 7 to 9pm today and 2 to 9pm Friday in the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home.  Services will be at 9am Saturday in St Stanislaus Catholic Church.  Rev. Casimir Grabarz, CSC, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.  She was a member of the Confraternity of the Holy Rosary at St Stanislaus Church.  Rosaries will be recited at 7:30pm today and Friday in the funeral home.
