John M. Walkowski

August 23, 1902 - May 5, 1983

John M. Walkowski, 80, of Indianapolis, formerly of South Bend, died in his home Thursday after a brief illness.  He retired in 1964 from Bendix Corp. where he was employed for 32 years.

He was born August 23, 1902, in South Bend and lived here until nine years ago when he moved to Indianapolis.  His wife, Stella Oskard, died March 20, 1974.  He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dolores W. Pirkle of Indianapolis; a sons, Leonard D. of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; a great grandchild; and four sisters and a brother.

Friends may call from 2 to 9pm Sunday in the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home.  He was a member of St Stanislaus Catholic Church and a lifetime member of PNA 83.  Memorial contributions may be made to any charity of the donor's choice.

Services for John M. Walkowski, 80, formerly of South Bend, who died Thursday in Indianapolis after a brief illness, will be at 10am Monday in St Stanislaus Catholic Church.  Rev. Stephen Sedlock, CSC, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in St Joseph Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 9pm today in the Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home.
