Mrs. Magdalene Walkowiak

-         April 4, 1951

Mrs. Magdalene Walkowiak, 430 South Walnut Street, died in her home 10:15pm Wednesday after an illness of eight weeks.

Born in Utica NY, she lived in South Bend since childhood.  Her husband, Frank, died three years ago.

Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Jennie Kuskowski, Mrs. Helen Monegrez, Miss Verna and Mrs. Bernice Kovatch, all of South Bend; a brother, John Pawlicki, South Bend; 10 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Friends may call after 4pm Friday in the Kaniewski & Son Chapel.  The funeral will be held at 9am Monday in St Hedwige’s Catholic Church.  Rev. Boleslaus J. Sztuczko, CSC, pastor, will officiate.  Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery.  Mrs. Walkowiak was a member of St Joseph Society No. 65, Polish Women’s Alliance; the Women’s Apostleship of Prayer and the Women’s Holy Rosary Society; all of St Hedwige’s Church.
