Mrs. Katherine Walkowiak

November 25, 1869 – June 6, 1951

Mrs. Katherine Walkowiak, 1035 West Napier Street, died at 12:10am today in her home after an illness of seven weeks.

Born in Poznan, November 25, 1869, she came to South Bend from that country 70 years ago.  Surviving are seven daughters, Sister M. Henrietta, CSC, Mrs. Anna Kaminski, Mrs. Josephine Nowak, Mrs. Lottie Sikorski, Mrs. Hattie Orzechowski, Mrs. Stella Rogers and Mrs. Mimi Pinkowski; a son, John, all of South Bend; two step sisters, Mrs. Joseph Kujawski, South Bend, and Mrs. Jennie Francisco, Elkhart IN; a step brother, Walter Przybysz, South Bend; 20 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.

Friends may call after 11am Thursday in St Joseph Funeral Chapel.  The funeral will be held at 9am Saturday in St Hedwige’s Catholic Church with Rev. Boleslaus J. Sztuczko, CSC, pastor, officiating.  Burial will be in St Joseph Polish Cemetery.  Mrs. Walkowiak was a member of the Women’s Apostleship of Prayer of St Hedwige’s Church.
