MISHAWAKA - Leota D. Walker, 79, of 56252 Hoover Ave., died at 4 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Medical Center, South Bend, after an illness. Mrs. Walker was a retail sales merchant. She was born Sept. 25, 1914, in Muskegon, Mich., moving to this area in 1982 from Kent City, Mich.

She married Howard Walker. He died in 1982. Surviving are a son, Robert H. Walker of Muskegon; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Kathleen W. Barker of Mishawaka. A son, Lewis J. Diepenhorst, died in 1984. She was a life member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Women's Auxiliary in Van Wert, Ohio.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Warner Funeral Home, Osceola. Cremation will take place, with burial in Lakeside Cemetery, Muskegon, at a later date. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
