SOUTH BEND - John C. Walker, 59, of East Chippewa Avenue, died at 10:35 p.m. Wednesday in Regency Place after an illness. Mr. Walker retired in 1995 from the shipping and receiving department of RACO Inc. He was born Dec. 12, 1935, in South Bend.

On June 28, 1958, in South Bend, he married Patricia Hapner. She died July 2, 1993. He is survived by three daughters, Michelle M. Wedsworth of Granger, Theresa A. Jacobsen of Arlington Heights, Ill., and Cheryl R. Lested of Okinawa, Japan; two sons, Gregory T. of Greenwood, Ind., and Christopher J. of Cape Girardeau, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four sisters, Rosemary Wikman of Osceola, Norma Krol of Crumstown and Marguerite Ogren and Genevieve Walker, both of South Bend. He was a veteran of the Korean War and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and Elks Lodge, Niles, and was a 1989 graduate of Indiana University South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will be in Cedar Grove Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
