NEW CARLISLE - Jerome "Jerry" Walker, 62, of New Carlisle, IN, died at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, in Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He was born on February 26, 1945, to the late John and Alice (Beckelandt) Walker in Mishawaka, and was a lifelong area resident. Along with his parents; one sister, Carolyn Bulkin of California also preceded him in death. Mr. Walker was currently employed at Unifrax Corporation in New Carlisle, where he has worked for 23 years.

On September 3, 1966, he married Sandra Szymkowiak at Saint Matthew Catholic Church in South Bend. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra (Szymkowiak) of New Carlisle, IN; one daughter, Karen (husband Jorge) Silva of Osceola; one son, Craig Walker of New Carlisle; three grandsons, Shane Walker, Tyler Walker, and Eric Silva; two sisters, Rosalie (husband Joe) McCay of New Carlisle; Virginia (husband Terry) DeFreeuw of Bonita Springs, FL; and one brother, George (Darlene) Walker of South Bend. Mr. Walker was a member of Saint Stanislaus Kostka Parish in New Carlisle.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, February 24, at Kaniewski Funeral Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, February 25, at Saint Stanislaus Kostka Catholic Church, New Carlisle, where friends may visit one hour prior to services at church.
