SOUTH BEND - J. Edward Walker Sr., 73, of McKinley Avenue, died at 1:15 p.m. Saturday of natural causes at Lee Memorial Hospital, near his winter home in Fort Myers, Fla. Mr. Walker retired in 1993 as a real estate broker with Colwell Banker-Anchor Real Estate after more than 10 years and also had been an insurance agent.

He was born Jan. 3, 1922, in Decatur, Ill., living here since 1959. On June 19, 1948, in Decatur, he married Joan Rambo. She survives with a daughter, Diane Stokes of Marion, Ind.; two sons, James and Mark, both of South Bend; six grandchildren; and a sister, Margaret Acciavatti of Decatur, Ill. A daughter, Lynette, died in 1971. He was a World War II and Korean War Navy veteran, a graduate of Milliken University in Decatur, a member of Elks Lodge 235, Moose Lodge and St. Anthony de Padua Catholic Church.
