Sister M. Freda CSC, 87, of St. Mary’s Convent died there early this morning after a short illness. Born July 20, 1887 in Danzig, Germany, as Maria Magdalena Walisckowski, she entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Holy Cross at St. Mary’s in 1912, coming from Schedlitz, Germany. She was received as a novice Dec. 10, 1912 and made her profession of vows two years later. She was assigned to ancilliary services in convents in Plymouth, Washington DC and Salt Lake City, before coming to St. Mary’s Convent in 1958.

Friends may calltoday and Friday in the convent parlors. Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Lady of Loretto with burial in Our Lady of Peace Cemetery at St. Mary’s. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday in the church.
