Virginia M. Waldschmidt

Virginia M. Waldschmidt, 78, of South Bend, Ind., passed away at 5:47
p.m. Thursday, August 3, 2006, in her home, as a result of
Rheumatoid Arthritis.
She was born on July
2, 1928, to the late Joseph and Veronica Saharski in Allegan, Mich.,
and had lived in South Bend since 1952, coming from Long Island, N.Y.
Along with her parents, three sisters, Margaret Saharski, Cecelia
Suhrbier and Dorothy Morse; and one brother, John Saharski, also
preceded her in death.
On April 28, 1951,
as Virginia M. Saharski, she married Vincent E. Waldschmidt Sr.
in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Bangor, Mich. He died on December
14, 2002.
She is survived
by one daughter, Rose M. Waldschmidt of South Bend; three sons,
Richard A. Waldschmidt of South Bend, Vincent E. Waldschmidt Jr.
of South Bend, and Michael A. (Marjorie) Waldschmidt of Franklin,
Ind.; eight grandchildren, Chris, Jessica, Hannah, Naomi, Matt,
Eddie, Helen, and Elise; and four great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Waldschmidt
was a member of St. Patrick Parish in South Bend, Ind.
Visitation will
be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 8, 2006, in Kaniewski Funeral
Home, 3545 N. Bendix Drive, South Bend, IN, where a Parish Rosary
will be prayed at 6:30 p.m.
A Mass of
Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 9,
2006, in St. Patrick Catholic Church, South Bend, with Rev.
Leonard F. Chrobot officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Cemetery.
