SOUTH BEND - Adolph Wajszczuk, 86,
of South Bend, died at 11 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center.
Mr. Wajszczuk retired from the University of
Notre Dame in 1976, where he worked as a tailor for over 25
years. He was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church.
He was born in Zamosc, Poland, on May
15, 1910, and lived in South Bend since 1950 coming from Germany.
On Oct. 4, 1938, in Poland, he
married Wladyslawa Klaudel who preceded him in death on June 17,
1990. Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth Wajszczuk of South Bend;
two sons, Peter of Osceola and Eugene of South Bend, six
grandchildren, Peter Wajszczuk, Christopher Wajszczuk, Nicholas Wajszczuk,
Jonathan Wajszczuk, Jane Szczepaniak and Diane Barry; and two
great-granddaughters, Ellen Barry and Emily Barry. Preceding Mr. Wajszczuk
in death was a daughter, Christine Pieczykolan, who died in 1981
and a brother, John, who died in 1995.
Services will be at 10 a.m.
Wednesday in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will be in St.
Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m.,
today, in the St. Joseph Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will
be recited at 6:30 p.m.
