SOUTH BEND – John M. Wagner, 80, of Hudson Avenue, died at 2:16am Tuesday in St Joseph’s Medical Center.  Mr. Wagner retired in 1983 from Crescent Electric Co., was a former vice president of South Bend Electric Co. and former manager of Englewood Electric Co.

He was born July 24, 1913, in Chicago, and lived in South Bend since 1947, coming from Chicago.  On November 21, 1942, in Chicago, he married Florence Lammel.  She survives with a daughter, Patricia Wagner of Louisville KY; a son, John W. of Ventura CA; a granddaughter, Victoria Wagner of Louisville; and a brother, William E. of Chicago.  He was a member of American Turners, American Legion Bendix Post 384, and Holy Cross Catholic Church.  He was a veteran of World War II.

Services will be at 11am Saturday in the church.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.  Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8pm Friday in Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William Street, where a wake will be at 7pm. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
