Joseph Wagenhofer

December 4, 1892 – April 19, 1971

Joseph Wagenhofer, 78, of 1417 S. 3^rd St., was dead on arrival at 3:40pm Monday at St Joseph’s Hospital following an unexpected illness. 

He was born December 4, 1892, in Germany and came to Mishawaka from that country in 1928.  On March 18, 1933, in Chicago he married Anna Mahler.  Surviving in addition to his wife are a son, Joseph H. Wagenhofer of Waterloo IA; a stepson, Raymond Mahler of South Bend; two sisters, Miss Anni Wagenhofer and Mrs. Katy Stattler of Munich, Germany, and four grandchildren.

Friends may call after noon Wednesday in the Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home, where final arrangements are being made.  Mr. Wagenhofer was a member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, South Bend, and the Friendship Club of that church.

Memorial contributions can be made to the St Paul’s Church property fund or the home for the aged, Kendallville IN.
