MISHAWAKA - Sister M. Pientia Waechter, OSF, 93, of Our Lady of the Angels, St. Francis Convent, died after an illness at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday in the convent. Sister Pientia was assigned as manager of hospital laundries in Nebraska, Kentucky, Ohio and Indiana. Her last mission was St. Joseph Hospital, Logansport, Ind. She was born March 16, 1903, as Irene M. Waechter, in Olte, Kan. Surviving are a sister, Viola Gatz of Taft, Texas; and two brothers, Clarence and Raymond Waechter, both of Liberty, Mo.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in St. Francis Convent Chapel. Burial will in St. Francis Convent Cemetery. A wake service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday in the chapel. Thallemer-Goethals Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
