Augusta (Kronewitter) Waechter, 88, of the Holy Cross Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Madison Street and Magician Lake, Mich., died on Wednesday morning, April 30. She was born Oct. 11, 1908, in South Bend, Ind.
She is survived by two daughters, Beverly (Waechter) Leader and son-in-law, John Leader of South Bend, and Karen (Waechter) Famularo and son-in-law, John Famularo of Lexington, Ky.; 19 grandchildren; and by 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert A. ''Hep'' Waechter; and by two daughters, Dolores Waechter Dennig and Joan Waechter Wightkin.
Mrs. Waechter and her husband were the founders of the former Sunnyside Beverages.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Boulevard., South Bend. A prayer service will be held at 5:30 p.m.
A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday in St. Anthony dePadua Church, 2312 Jefferson Boulevard, South Bend, with burial in St. Joseph Memorial Cemetery.
