SOUTH BEND - Dorothy Eleanor Vrabel, 69, of Humboldt Street, died at 1:45 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Vrabel retired from ACX and AM Com Exchanges as a telephone operator after 20 years of service. She was born Dec. 23, 1926, in Mishawaka. On May 1, 1948, in Angola, Ind., as Dorothy E. Cox, she married Rudolph A. Vrabel. He died March 10, 1968. She is survived by a son, Michael A. of Granger; a grandson, Graham Vrabel of Granger; and a sister, Edith Mae Mrozinski of Clearwater, Fla.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Hickey Funeral Home, 17131 Cleveland Road. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County Inc.
