SOUTH BEND - Rose M. Vournas, 90, of Southwood Drive and Naples, Fla., died at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in Holy Cross Care and Rehabilitation Center. Mrs. Vournas was a legal secretary for 40 years, retiring in 1972. She was born April 9, 1905, in South Bend.

In 1972, in Chicago, she married Peter Vournas. He died in 1976. Surviving are a sister, Mary S. Stratigos of South Bend; and three nieces, Beverly Skoniecke of Minocqua, Wis., Maria A. Spiridon of South Bend and Marilyn Miller Malone of Hingham, Mass.; and two nephews, George S. Stratigos of South Bend and Joseph S. Stratigos of Niles. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and its Altar Society and St. Theresa Society.

Services are being arranged in McGann Funeral Home, 2313 E. Edison Road, where friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. A rosary will be said by members of Altar Society and the parish at 3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home.
