David A. Voorde

September 18, 1905 – November 18, 1954

David A (Boots) Voorde, 49, died at 9:35pm Thursday in his home, 724 W Ford St., where he had been ill since June.  He was a time clerk for the Singer Manufacturing Co., and a former chief deputy assessor of Portage Township.  He held office from 1926 to 1934.  A lifelong resident of South Bend, he was born September 18, 1905.

Surviving are his parents, Mrs. & Mrs. Joseph Voorde, of the same address; a sister, Mrs. Clem Dygulski, and two brothers, Edward F Voorde, Portage Township assessor and Albert D. Voorde, all of South Bend.  Funeral services will be at 9am Monday in Sacred Heart Church, 1124 W Thomas St.  Rt. Rev. Msgr George Moorman, pastor, will officiate.  Friends may call after 2pm Saturday in the Nemeth Funeral Home.
