SOUTH BEND - Patricia J. "Queen" Volk, 84, passed away at 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, November 21, in Memorial Hospital. Patricia was born on August 13, 1923, in South Bend, to Charles W. and Dorothea V. (Keegan) Schadt. Preceding her in death are her parents; former husband, George A; brother, John and daughter, Janice. She is survived by her children, Jane A. (Volk) and her companion who was also Patricia's good friend, Michael Johnson, and John Volk, both of South Bend; and brother, C. Graham (Polly) Schadt of Arlington, TX. Patricia was a parishioner at the Cathedral of St. Matthew and a member of D.A.R. Her time was spent with family, watching T.V., contributing to the Heart Fund, walking on her walker in therapy, going on outings with her family, and with friends at Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center, and enjoying animals and her church.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 27, in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 1827 E. Ireland Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, November 28, in the Cathedral of St. Matthew. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger.
