Arthur G. Voigt

October 1, 1888 – June 19, 1962

Arthur Goodwin Voigt, 73, of 815 Leland Avenue, died at 11:45am Tuesday in Memorial Hospital after a five week illness.

Born on October 1, 1888, in South Bend, he was a lifetime resident here.  On October 18, 1949, he married Sara Acton, who survives.  Also surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Charles Lemmons, of River Forest IL; a son, John A Voigt, of Midland MI; six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Florence Mahn, of Cleveland OH.

Friends may call after noon Thursday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home.  Services will be at 11am Friday in the funeral home, with Rev. Ernest J. Peters, of St. Paul’s Memorial Methodist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.  Mrs. Voigt, a real estate salesman, was a charter member of the South Bend-Mishawaka Board of Realtors and South Bend Lodge 294.
